Another tranny project

I'm tearing apart this ratchet top trans this week. I giggled when I took the top off because it looks like someone used white house paint to seal it up, brush strokes and all. Oh well, it did it's job!

Fixing Frames

A few weeks ago my mentor had me fix this frame. The neck was hideous, it had no foot board tabs, the seat post had hideous welds and holes and the area where the oil tank goes was cut off. So I made it all pretty again! I should've gotten some before pictures but I didn't. Life will go on.

My Sissybar

I don't know if I've posted this picture before but here it is again. I found this beauty at a chopper shop in Colorado. It's from the 60's and some dude probably on acid made it. The chrome was coming off and it was a bit rusty so I had it polished and re-chromed. I can't wait to put it on my '49.

Yours truly

I got a good laugh when my Mom e-mailed me this picture of me when I was a kid.

Leonards Flatty

I can't wait to see this bike when it's finished! He's bringing a few more projects down to the shop tomorrow and I can't wait to jump into working on them.
I'm in the middle of porting these heads.
I went shooting with a friend last Friday. I love a good day at the range!

Pretty sure...

I think I have a different Harley shirt for everyday of the year. This is just one small pile.

Eye see you....

I got caught partyin' earlier this year.
Last week we had a guy call up and say he bought a '47 Knuck from the old guy that lived next door from him and he was going to bring it in for a tune up. Turns out the old guy bought it brand new in '47 and has kept in mint condition since then but hasn't rode it since '72. This bike is immaculate, I mean absolutely beautiful. It is hands down the coolest bike I've seen so far. Anyway the kid got it for a great price and wanted to keep it exactly the way it was, just try to see if we could get if running. Well it's running and amazing to see such great history in motion.

While I'm here

I might as well share what I've been thinking about lately. Houses. Cool ass houses...and of course, Harleys. I am no longer living in Denver, I moved to southwest Colorado by the Royal Gorge. The more I'm down here the more I love leaving the concrete, bums, soccer moms and bullshit behind in the city. I'm in my mid 20's and I'm still figuring out who I am and my place in this big world. A few things I think I've figured out about myself.
1. I'm really indecisive
2. I love to day dream
3. I love the outdoors and nature
4. I want a kid one day
5. I would love to meet my partner in crime, aka, husband in the next few years.
6. I'm selfish and need to be told I can't have it my way all the time
7. But I will still know I'm right...
8. I want a house in the woods with a shop
9. I really hate that I'm losing faith in my generation
10. But I keep some kind of hope in the back of my mind
Anyway, back to the house thing. Here's a few pictures of houses I like.

For Sale

I found this little gem yesterday on my way to go antiquing. I guess it's been for sale for many years with no takers. I could see myself buying it to live in and have a shop one day. Hey, nothing wrong with day dreaming right?

Bishops Castle

I've heard stories about this place that have always peaked my interest and I figured since I live close to it now, might as well check it out. John Bishop is a very old and talented iron worker who has been building this castle on his property for many years now and it's always a work in progress. It's completely free but donations are always accepted and if you get hurt, just remember, you came here at your own risk. Mr. Bishop is not a fan of big brother and rightfully so, they have been trying to turn a profit off of him anyway they can through fines, zoning issues and taxation on donations. There are hand painted signs everywhere voicing his opinion so do yourself a favor and read the pictures I took of them. It's people like John Bishop that will keep this country good and honest when shit hits the fan. Remember your rights because if you forget them, you might as well not have any and Big Brother can and will take advantage of that.
