Tour

Last year I went on tour with a friends band. My friend Kelly and I at a backyard skate party and show in Vegas.
So my bike has found itself a name...

New oil filter

Coming together

Born Free

I had fixed my front brake and now it was time for it to go back on.
Dang that looks good. Spray paint rules.

My mentor Mike was welding a bracket to the frame to hold the oil tank on when a spark flew off and hit the rags under the bike. Tiny fire = a lot of smoke. Dang it, that was my best Sunday shirt!!

So my chain and tires are perfectly lined up and ready to go. I took them back off to paint the hardtail section.

This green stuff is TBC coating. It stands for Thermal Barrier Coating. It helps to keep heat inside of the combustion chamber.
All done!

After I did a port job on my heads, Teflon coated them, baked them in the oven and then let them cool, it was time to put my valves and springs back together.

Dirty boogers

Sanding my rear fender.
A good friend of mine gave me this fender to use on my bike. Too bad I'm not really into the whole flame thing.

I sanded and primed my front fender.

Pit Stop

On our way back up to Denver, Nate and I took a little time to check out these passenger trains.

Porting my heads

After I ported my heads, I Teflon coated them and baked them in the oven.
Finished!

Gettin' there!

In the process.

While Nate was working on my tank, I started porting my heads.Tell you what, after I was finished, my hands hurt!

A little help

I've been feeling the pressure of getting my bike finished before the Born Free Show in Long Beach, so I enlisted my friend Nate to help me sand the old paint off my tank and prime it. This helped me out while I was porting my heads. Thanks buddy!

Born Free

The countdown is on, and I'm feeling the pressure. I still have a list a mile long of shit I've gotta get done on my Sportster. My plan is to keep my nose to the grindstone and pray to the Motorcycle Gods. "Our lady of blessed acceleration, don't fail me now!"

Time for a different color of spray paint.

Cylinders on. Check!
Pistons on rods. Check!

New gaskets. Check!

Cylinders honed. Check!

Picture me rollin'

Chop Chop

Picked up a seat, fender and sissybar for my Sportster today. The Born Free show is less than a month away.

Stop!

Cleaned up and replaced a few parts on my front brake.

Night out

Some old friends from Bremerton, WA were traveling through Denver on tour with their band, Neutralboy. I had a great time hanging out and getting my face melted off. Thanks guys!
